About the role: Samsara is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to partner with our R&D organization. Samsara's R&D organization creates the industry-leading IoT products and features that power our customer experience. You will partner with our engineering leaders to manage Cloud, Cellular, and AI infrastructure costs, driving quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify cost optimization opportunities. You will help build the reporting and attribution frameworks needed to track and govern AI spend, support month-end close procedures, and drive forecast models that give our leaders and investors accurate guidance. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US or Canada. In this role, you will: Partner closely with leaders across our Software and Firmware Engineering teams to manage Cloud, Cellular, and AI vendor spend Analyze financial results, prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting, and support financial review meetings with R&D and Finance leadership Partner with Accounting on month-end close activities, cost classification, and reporting requests Collaborate with R&D teams to drive AOP planning Improve the accuracy and scalability of existing financial reporting and forecasting models Develop new mechanisms, analysis, or KPIs to inspect business performance Leverage AI tools to streamline financial reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis workflows Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices Minimum requirements for the role: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem solving utilizing financial modeling and analysis, including advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills Experience at a high-growth tech company Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, often changing environment Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to senior management Proactive and highly organized self-starter, able to work independently under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail An ideal candidate also has: Familiarity with AWS cloud cost and general SaaS cost management Proficiency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Glean, Cursor, etc.), Databricks, and FP&A tools such as Workday Adaptive Planning (or similar planning systems) and NetSuite Prior partnership with software engineering teams Passion for building new models, processes, and mechanisms The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below.
